About: – It is a getaway of Jharkhand state specially for
Chotanagpur. It was an eminent land under Magadh
Empire. Samudra gupta had intercommunication with Chotanagpur and operated the first
attack against the empire of south
Kaushal in Mahanandi valley from here. In between the period of Tughlaq dynasty Chatra
was connected with Delhi Empire. The Mughal Governor Daud Khan had won the
Kothi fort on the date of 5th may 1660 A.D.
