Introduction of District Alappuzha State Kerala : – The Major and prime rivers of Alappuzha district are Manimala, Achancovil and Pampa. Manimala river originates from the hill of Mothavara. It enters in this district at village of Thalavadi in Kuttanad Block and goes by the Champakulam and Edathua villages and meet the river of Pampa at Muttar. The villages of Kaviyoor, manimala, kalloppara, mallappally, Thalavadi,Champakkulam and Kozhimukhu are located in the course of the Manimala river. The length of this river is 91.73 km. The third longest river of Kerala state is Pampa River and it originates form the plateau of Peerumedu in Idukki district.
